Sutton Feast Social Events for the people of Sutton

History

Sutton Feast was formed from a group of enthusiastic parties to celebrate the millennium back in 1998.  Now approaching our own Silver Juiblee,  we promote the total inclusion of all villagers with reference to the original objectives:

  • To promote and encourage community spirit
  • To co-ordinate the annual feast celebrations
  • To arrange social events on behalf of the community of Sutton
  • To promote involvement of all groups in Sutton
  • To have ‘Fun and Enjoyment’ whilst doing the above

We have organised and staged numerous events and these have included ...

  • The Millennium Celebrations, Church Service / Millennium Candles and Coins
  •  Golden & Diamond Jubilee Celebrations
  • Production of Sutton History Booklets and various other Sutton Merchandise
  • Pond Dipping, Duck Racing
  • Various talks, quiz’s, wine tasting, film nights
  • Proms in the Church
  • The Dog Show
  • The Sutton Beast 10K run and 2.5K Mini Beast run
  • Picnic in the Park with fireworks.

Arguably the highlight of all these events was the Diamond Jubilee weekend, when the High Street was closed for various events over the weekend, culminating in the BBMF flypast by the Lancaster Bomber in 2013.

We are a small group of enthusiastic people and through tireless work from all our members, helpers and volunteers we provide an annual package of events for the community of Sutton-in-the-Isle.

We hope that you can join us for some, if not all, of our events.
